François Thuault Head of Claim Management Saipem

François is a French and anglo-saxon law practitioner and he holds a MBA. He started off in 1982, originally in finance and tax functions, working for KPMG and then Schlumberger. He stayed ever since in oil and gas , moving in 1986 to head legal functions inside engineering firms (Geostock and Sofresid). In 1999, the integration of Sofresid (a former John Brown and Kvaerner affiliate) in Bouygues Offshore, a contractor oriented group, exposed him to larger and more challenging EPC Projects, and also brought the opportunity to develop the contract management function, role and tools. Soon, the further integration in Saipem resulted in in-depth involvement in the negotiation of mega-projects and their execution. François has successively lead the contract function (bid and execution) of Saipem in France until 2009 and then the  Legal function in Asia Pacific. Since his return from Asia in 2012 he has taken a corporate position focusing on claim management in support of project execution globally.
